  • 15 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me an opportunity to contribute to this very important Motion. I fully support this Motion because it has come at the right time when we can make considerations in the Supplementary Budget as proposed by Hon. Mbarire. It has been a big challenge for very many women especially in the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) areas. The Government has shown some interest in addressing a number of issues, especially health issues. We have seen the Government distributing sanitary towels through the County Women Representatives. I feel that the Government should ... view

  • 20 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. The mood he was watching was for those who have taken breakfast, but this Motion entails those who are from marginalised areas and children who cannot access food even in their homesteads. I support this Motion because I am a beneficiary of school feeding programme. First, I want to assure this House that I am one of the beneficiaries of the Nyayo Milk. I know how beneficial it was. I also benefitted from the lunch programme when it started in this country. It would go to all schools, but now we only ... view
  • 20 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: The biggest problem that we have in this country is corruption. This programme was running very smoothly, but because of corruption, some schools were removed. If we follow it closely, it will be very easy for us to roll it out in all schools. We should have a good budget that will facilitate the provision of the school feeding programme in all schools. This programme should be channeled to the State Department for Special Programmes. I have heard people propose that it should go to the Woman Representative and others to the NG- CDF. If this programme is handled by ... view

  • 11 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I stand to support this Motion. It has come at the right time looking at the issues in the country. We have been having a number of issues, particularly if you look at the number of deaths and patients that we have across the country - it is very big. We have another challenge which I think the country must put into consideration. The number of our qualified doctors who can handle issues of cancer in this country is very minimal. We need to make sure that we increase the number. We ... view
