Founders

Mzalendo.com was started in 2005 and is the brainchild of two patriotic Kenyans: Ory Okolloh and Conrad Akunga.

Ory Okolloh is an activist, blogger and lawyer. Her twitter handle is @kenyanpundit. She currently works for Omidyar Network as a Director of Investments in Africa. She has previously served as the Google Policy Officer for Africa.

Ory is also a founder member of Ushahidi.com, a website developed to map reports of violence in Kenya after the post-election violence in 2007. She is graduate of Harvard Law School and earned a Political Science degree from University of Pittsburgh.

Conrad Akunga is an experienced software architect, engineer and tech-entrepreneur. He is also a leading influencer on twitter where he goes by the handle: @roomthinker. Conrad also currently serves on the IHub Advisory Board (www.ihub.co.ke). He is a University of Nairobi Alumnus.
