    "content": "With regard to the flood mitigation, it is disappointing to note that very little resources have been allocated towards this cause. Recent statistics by the Ministry of Devolution have placed the flood-related death toll at 289. We have lost more people to floods than COVID-19. This is an area we need to pay attention to and a small demonstration in this Budget in terms of Ksh500 million being allocated so that the floods in Nyando can be mitigated by the construction of the Soin Koru Dam. We hope that the Ministry will fast-track the procurement process so that in not very long time the floods in Nyando will be a thing of the past."
