"content": "certain courses, particularly those that are traditionally perceived to be lucrative, among them Medicine, Pharmacy, Law, Commerce and Engineering, among others. It is on this account that I seek a statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Education and Research. In the statement, the Chairperson should inform the House on the following: (i) Why is it that over the past few years, no student in Isiolo County has been admitted to pursue the traditionally perceived lucrative courses such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Law and Engineering, among others? (ii) What measures has the Ministry put in place to ensure that application and selection of students from marginalised regions and, in particular, Isiolo County is done fairly - including affirmative action - with a view of promoting equality and balance for all applicants. (iii) What measure is the Ministry undertaking to ensure distribution of such courses is done equitably to students from all areas of the country?"
