    "content": "Thank you, Madam Deputy Speaker; this is a very important issue that has been brought before this House. It is not the first time in this Session that we are speaking about the plight of sugarcane farmers. As a representative of farmers in this House, I share in the concerns of the Senators who have spoken to this issue and the fact that the Government has not been forthright and forthcoming with regards to how the challenges that are facing the sugarcane industry will be addressed. Public owned companies are mismanaging this country. It is on a completely different pedestal when you mismanage resources that were meant to pay people who directly supplied crop to a particular factory.
