"content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. First of all, I want to register my appreciation to the Committee for the good work that they have done within limited time. I think that we did stretch the Committee by giving them limited time. To the people of Kirinyaga County and to the MCAs, those of us who are lawyers know that there is no case that is so good that it cannot be lost in court and neither is there a case that is so bad that it cannot be won in a court of law. In legal issues, one approaches each matter with an open mind. You at times win and lose at times. This House once impeached the Governor for Embu County twice and the court of law; the High Court, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court, overturned its verdict. The MCAs of Kirinyaga should learn from this process. They should identify the areas where they did not do the things right and the areas where they did not meet the threshold for impeachment. That should give them an aspiration of having a better case next time. This battle should not carry our emotions. We should approach our duty to the great people of Kenya with an open mind. That is the best spirit that we can give to the people of Kirinyaga County. We should also appreciate that there are things that we can do as a House and that there are things that other institutions can do better than us. I am happy that the Committee has recommended for further investigation against certain officers and that should give hope to the people of Kirinyaga County. They should have hope that justice will be done to them if any resources were plundered or misused."
