"content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I wish to join my colleagues in congratulating the Committee, having carried out this impeachment process. Secondly, I congratulate the MCAs of Kirinyaga County because they have done their work very well. I sat in two special Committees in the last Senate. The first one was during the impeachment proceedings of the Governor of Kericho County. In the impeachment, we made a very good recommendation. We said that there should be reconciliation between the county government and the Senator then. The recommendation we made then was that under the leadership of the Senator, a reconciliation should be arrived at. That happened and worked so well. Since then, we have never had any problem. Mr. Speaker, Sir, secondly, for the MCAs of Murang’a County, we had the impeachment of Gov. Mwangi wa Iria. That impeachment did not go very well because the Senator then was devastated because we did not come up with this kind of recommendation by this particular Committee. If at all the relevant institutions will pick these recommendations and carry them to the end, the people who were involved should be investigated. That means that there is win-win in both cases. I think we should not discourage MCAs; they have done their work and come this far. They should proceed doing what they are doing. As a House, we should look back and see where there are gaps and make proper recommendations. I hope that under the leadership of the Senator for Kirinyaga County, we should come up with The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
