"content": " Hon. Speaker, the issue of Busia is touching on the lives of the people of Busia, Siaya and Bungoma. Two weeks ago, I led a delegation of six Members of Parliament to the Office of the Inspector-General of Police to enforce a rule, that from the source, every driver must have a COVID-19 negative certificate. I led another delegation to the Ministry of Health, where we met the Cabinet Secretary. They both promised to act to ensure that no truck driver will leave the Coast, the source, to Busia, without a COVID-19 certificate. As you have been told, this issue is not just touching Busia. Siaya, Bungoma and Busia are all in danger. Now that the police have turned road blocks into Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), the people of Busia have been left helpless. The Government is not working. If you empower us, as Members of Parliament, we swear to protect our people using this House. Why can you not authorise us to use our own militias at home to deal with this issue? It is a serious issue. The The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
