Deputy Speaker, pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order No.44(a), I wish to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Water and Sanitation the following Question: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain why Ura Dam in Nyambene Forest in Igembe Central Constituency which was constructed by the National Government in partnership with the Catholic Diocese of Meru completed three (3) years ago remains un-operational? (ii) Could the Cabinet Secretary provide a breakdown of the total amount of money spent in construction of the said project, indicating the amount paid to the contractor(s); and surrounding areas? (iii) What measures has the Ministry put in place to ensure that the dam is operational as soon as possible so as to provide the much needed water to the people of Igembe Central? Thank you, Hon.
