    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me an opportunity to speak to this Bill. I support it and as my colleague has said a while ago, this Bill is long overdue. There is need for us to take care of our elderly. As time progresses, that is also where we are headed. So, not only do we need what is stated in here but we also need homes for the elderly to be constructed and this is a large industry. In other parts of the world, elderly care homes is a very large industry where people have a place to go. They do not just depend on their relatives. Sometimes their relatives may not be willing to help. I did not get a chance to contribute last week on the issue of taxation of the elderly people’s pension. Parliament made a wise decision of protecting the retirees. It was a very bad idea to even have thought of taxing them."
