    "content": "Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I rise, pursuant to Standing Order No.48(1), to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on National Security, Defence and Foreign Relations regarding the killing of Messrs. Lazarus Tirop, Cornelius Kipkogei and Timothy Kipyego, residents of Lessos in Nandi Hills Constituency, Nandi County, by police officers. Dozens were also injured in the incident that took place last week. In the Statement, the Committee should - (1) State the reasons that led to the shooting and killing of the three residents of Lessos, Nandi Hills Constituency, by police officers, who were supposed to maintain law and order in the area. (2) Indicate whether it is aware that the incident has sparked off protests in Lessos Centre and ignited acrimony, fear and mistrust between the residents of Nandi County and the officers of the National Police Service (NPS). Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, it is important for the House to note that the house of the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) in charge of that police station was burnt down by the angry mob.
