    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.48 (1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on National Security, Defense and Foreign Relations regarding the cruel treatment of Kenyans working in the State of Qatar. In the Statement the Committee should- (1) Explain the circumstances that led to the torture of Ms. Chepkemoi Kirinyet from Bomet County working in Qatar to the extend of losing two feet last week and confiscation of her passport. (2) State the measures that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is putting in place, if any, to ensure that Ms. Kirinyet and all other Kenyan victims of such cruel acts get justice in that country. (3) State the measures the Government has put in place to regulate the agencies offering job opportunities abroad and to ensure the general welfare of Kenyans working in those countries. Thank you."
