I would like to ask Question No.287/2020 to the Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain what caused the stalling of works on the Makutano-Chesoi-Chugar-Chesongoch-Tot road in Marakwet East Constituency, which has stalled for the last seven years? (ii) What reasons informed a change of the authority in-charge of construction of the said road from the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) to the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA)? Actually, this is the reason the construction of the road stalled. (iii) What measures has the Ministry put in place to ensure that works resume on the project so as to complete the remaining 11 kilometres of the road from Chugar to Tot. Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker."
