It is on account of those public concerns that I seek for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security on the following: (i) What were the specific reasons that led to the cancellation of those meetings? (ii) Is the Public Order Act that was cited by the Officer Commanding Police Station in both cases on cancelling the events still relevant and practical in the current constitutional dispensation? (iii) What informed the unnecessary use of force including the use of teargas against Christians who had gathered peacefully to undertake their religious duties? Thank you Hon. Speaker."
