    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Maybe he is concerned about this Bill. I cannot understand the import of the Committee when it was coming up with Clause 20 of this Bill. It states that elected or nominated Members of Parliament should not participate in fundraising. Surely, we need to be realistic. Fundraising is voluntary. It is not a must. If I feel that I need to go and fundraise in Millie Odhiambo’s constituency, I should be at liberty to do that. I should be at liberty to give when God has given me a chance to do so. There are several issues coming up in this Bill. We need to be very clear that we will propose serious amendments to this Bill during the Committee of the whole House to make sure that we align the entire Bill to the realities on the ground. As a Member of Parliament, you need to be alive to the realities in your constituency and country. You cannot be left out of this noble idea. How can you leave leaders out of a noble idea? I will support this Bill on the issue of accountability where people must show cause as to why they need a fundraiser. They need to account for the money we give them. I will support all that.
