    "content": "I come from a region where we grow sugar-cane. Over 70 per cent of my constituency is occupied by sugar-cane and we supply it to factories in Chemelil, Muhoroni and Miwani. Those days when we were growing up, our parents could pay fees very easily. Today as we speak, many of the communities living along the Nandi Escarpment within the Nyando Region of Kisumu, Nandi and Kericho counties live in abject poverty – that is manmade poverty. The founding father of this nation was quite visionary especially in establishing those factories in the mid-1960s. Those factories employed many people in my constituency, Nandi, Kericho and even Kisumu."
