"content": "Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, first and foremost, the employment of teachers under the ESP is not a function of the Ministry of Education. We are just a conduit. Once that policy is agreed upon and the money is directly channeled to the BoGs and School Management Committees, just like the capitation funds are being channeled to the accounts of the respective schools depending on the shortage in that school, it will be able to benefit directly by employing teachers through the BoGs in the case of secondary schools and District Education Boards (DEBs) in the case of primary schools. Under this programme, it was expected that 50 primary teachers and ten secondary school teachers will be employed at the constituency level, making a total of 60 teachers."
