I beg to move the following amendment to the Motion on the alteration of the Senate calendar- THAT the Motion be amended by deleting the words “to hold two sittings in each week on Tuesdays and on Thursdays beginning on Tuesday 15th September, 2020 and on Thursday 17th September, 2020 and substituting thereof the words “to hold sittings as provided for in the Standing Order No.31(1) namely Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays commencing at 2.30 p.m. We have had meetings once a week for nearly two months. The way things are, we are not able to finish whatever we need to do in this House. The Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) Formula has been on throughout the last one month and we are not going anywhere. We need more time and more sitting days to discuss these issues. I beg to move and ask Sen. Linturi to second."
