The company leased 9.6 hectares for 30 years. One of the conditions for the licence was the requirement to rehabilitate 40 acres of mangrove area adjacent to licensed area within Makupa Creek in conjunction with the local community groups, spearheaded by the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) and community forest associations."
