    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, as we debate this matter, I urge colleagues to try and agree to what our Committee did in coming up with a formula that would accommodate the diversity that we have in this nation. A famous African author, the late Prof. Albert Chinua Achebe, in his book, ‘The Arrow of God,’ wrote about a character who attempted to carry water and fire in the same mouth. This Senate must attempt to carry water and fire in the same mouth and make sure that the water does not extinguish the fire. That is the delicate situation we find ourselves in. Therefore, we must keep the embers of the fire blowing with water in the same mouth."
