    "content": "Thank you very much, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. I beg to second this Motion on the approval of the Third Report of the Committee on Procedure and Rules on amendments to the Senate Standing Orders to facilitate virtual sittings of the Senate and its committees. The Motion has been moved by Sen. (Prof.) Kamar very aptly. This is a very interesting area because many parliaments did not foresee that the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) would happen, yet a balance has to be created to ensure that legislative matters get addressed on a continuous basis. The Standing Orders that we have, therefore, do not have a provision for virtual interactions, as we know it. Therefore, the timing for this Report is very critical.
