    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, aware of the potential livestock farming in transforming the lives of our people in ASAL areas, we initiated construction of two slaughter houses in Isiolo and Garissa last year and they are nearing completion. Encouraged by this progress, I am allocating another Ksh150 million each to upscale the on-going work by constructing four other modern and state of the art slaughterhouses in West Pokot, Wajir and Kajiado. These slaughther houses will be operated and managed by farmers through their co-operatives. I expect their operationalisation to promote exportation of beef, generate foreign exchange and incomes to our country."
