Therefore, law enforcement officers or opinion leaders, including us politicians, teachers, and everybody should come out and fight this vice with all due respect, especially those young parents who have succumbed to the whims of their fathers and mothers and released their children to the grandparents so that it can be done. It should be made punitive to the extent that if you do it, you are arrested, charged and jailed. If the community sees that we have imprisoned A, B, C and D, E, F and G will stop doing it. These times we just make fun of it. For instance, some of us were laughing when Hon. Odhiambo-Mabona was explaining these things. It is very important that we open our eyes and minds, and accept that we need this change. This will be done, not by anybody else, but by all of us, the victims and the ones who victimise them."
