"content": "is not working, yet on many occasions we have not risen to the demands and expectation of the people we represent. No governor can escape blame because COVID-19 has reminded us how tragic and broken our healthcare is. Those who thought that they were safe and have an insurance cover are being told by insurance companies that, “we cannot and will not pay’. Therefore, it is left to those who are able to pay some of these things out of the pocket. These are the ones who will see through these extremely difficult times. That is a warning shot to us as a House. I agree with our colleagues who are directing the challenge squarely to our colleagues who serve in Committee on Health. Houses of Parliament transact their businesses through their Committees. Therefore, we expect our colleagues in the Committee on Health to lead us in the coming days. We still have the big problem of leased managed equipment. This House did not agree with the recommendations of the Report. However, it put a caveat and said that the Committee must, first of all, tell us how to get that project back on track, so that each county gets the equipment that is due and wananchi access those services, then deal with the thieves who over-priced those particular equipment. That is a challenge that we give to our colleagues who serve in the Committee on Health. Therefore, I pass my sincere condolences and hope that as the leadership, we will share in the pain that millions of citizens of this country continue to face."
