I wish to ask the following Question to the Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection: (i) What measures has the Ministry put in place to ensure that Kenyans seeking employment in the Middle East do so only through licensed and registered recruiting agencies approved by the Ministry of Labour? (ii) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain the recent claims of abuse of migrant workers in the Middle East leading to loss of lives during the COVID-19 pandemic period? (iii) What is the status of implementation of the Bilateral Labour Agreements between the Government of Kenya and countries in the Middle East Region regarding safety of Kenyan migrant workers?
