    "content": "Discharging these obligations requires membership to International Hydrographic Organization which sets the standards for hydrography co-ordinates hydrographic efforts and is the body recognised by the United Nations (UN) as the competent international organisation for hydrography and nautical charting. This Convention was approved a long time ago on 26th July 1991 by the Government of Kenya. The establishment of a national hydrographic office under the Department of Survey in the Ministry of Lands and the Kenya National Hydrographic and Oceanographic Committee (KNHOC) was established to coordinate the acquisition and dissemination of hydrographic information to maritime users."
