Senators, I hereby report that a Petition has been submitted through the Clerk by Mr. Patrick Githinji and five other members of the National IDPs Network Kenya concerning attempted repeal of the Prevention, Protection and Assistance to IDPs and Affected Communities Act, 2012. As you aware, Article 119 (1) of the Constitution states that: - “Every person has a right to petition Parliament to consider any matter within its authority, including to enact, amend or repeal any legislation.” The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
