I rise to ask Question No.364 of 2020 to the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries: (i) When will the Ministry allow and facilitate tea farmers from Ndu-ini, Gikigie and Kiangenye tea factories to change the station of delivery of their green leaf from Githambo Tea Factory to Gacharage Tea Factory, considering so that they stand to benefit from the fair-trade funds availed at Gacharage Tea Factory and the existing road network, which is not as poor as the access roads to Githambo Tea Factory; (ii) what specific measures is the Ministry putting in place to facilitate the timely and uninterrupted transfer of the said tea farmers’ produce as per their constant requests, in light of the fact that they have neither plucked nor sold green leaf since 1stNovember 2020, and by when will this be done? Thank you."
