"content": " Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I would just like to agree with Hon. Duale and Hon. Wamunyinyi that in terms of our education sector especially in the villages, without NG-CDF, there will be zero preparedness for children to go back to school during this COVID-19 period. Our education sector relies almost 100 per cent on NG- CDF, whether it is the development of infrastructure in the schools or bursaries for our children. We also understand. We do not want anybody to think that we do not understand that the economy has suffered shocks. What we are facing ahead of us in terms of children returning to school is so important. I would like to commit that I will work together with Hon. Wamunyinyi in the coming week to ensure that whatever can be disbursed for purposes of NG-CDF is disbursed urgently, quickly and in a way that ensures our constituencies are able to prepare. If you leave it too late, there will be no time within which the preparations can be made yet students are all going back to school on 4th January, 2021. It must be understood. As the Chair of the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning, I give my commitment that I will work with Hon. Wamunyinyi to ensure that whatever can be done by the National Treasury is done. Tutasukuma ."
