"content": " Hon. Speaker, I beg to move the following Procedural Motion: THAT, notwithstanding the provisions of Standing Order 120, this House resolves to reduce the publication period of the Business Laws (Amendment)(No.2) Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 50 of 2020) from 14 days to 8 days. This is a procedural matter. I believe it was already covered by the Motion that we approved at the point of adjourning the House. However, now that we are here, it is one of the Bills whose 14 days have matured. We can ratify it in the normal way. According to the Standing Orders, when a Bill is presented to this House, it is referred to a departmental committee after the First Reading to be processed for the next stage. To allow this Bill to be read with the other Bills, we are seeking the concurrence of the House to reduce its publication period so that we are neat. This will not affect its processing. We will have it read the First Time to allow for public participation and it will be debated by the House when we next meet in February, 2020. So, we are not shortening the publication to further process it today, but to have it read the First Time together with the other Bills. When we meet next, it will go to the Second Reading stage to save the House from more procedures."
