    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to contribute towards this important Bill. At the outset, I support the Bill. First of all, it is just to address the fact that tax debate is usually not a very good debate for parliamentarians. In the last Parliament, a few of our colleagues lost their seats because of some of the issues that they were raising on matters to do with tax. Moreover, even biblically, the tax collectors were never liked by anyone. Therefore, it is not an easy debate. It is one that we have to think as leaders, rise up to the occasion, look at where the country is and make decisions. Those decisions are very important as we try to look at the effects of Coronairus that has affected this country and the whole world. Every country has tried on its own to come up with measures to address this. The President came up with the tax relief move. This was advised by the suffering of Kenyans. As other speakers have already indicated, everybody did panic, including the Government. Everybody panicked because of the pandemic. In addition, each person and every government were unable to make decisions at that time. However, of course with time, the country has now been able to articulate and address what is..."
