    "content": "Thanks to this new thinking by Hon. Tandaza today. We would like to have bixa become a scheduled crop. One of the reasons bixa was not considered by Government is that it is not a scheduled crop. But we now have an opportunity. I would like to rally this House to use the opportunity to pass this Bill so that bixa, one of the highest earners in Kwale and in the Coast region, can benefit the people. Bixa is grown in Kwale and in Kilifi counties, especially in areas of Malindi. It is a big crop, actually the sixth biggest crop in Lamu and many other parts of the Coast. So this is actually opening a new economic front for the Coast region to reap big benefits from agriculture."
