    "content": "Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, despite numerous requests and demands to hon. Members from the farmers for the Government to buy this maize directly and open centres at locational level, or to have mobile units, the Government has turned a blind eye to this problem. It is of no point for leaders to organize a prayer breakfast for leaders to pray to God to lead this nation. Leaders have become arrogant to the extent that they can see maize rotting in the farms and instead of taking action they organize prayer breakfasts and eat a breakfast worth Kshs2,500 a plate, yet our farmers are suffering. I do not subscribe to that behaviour and I will never, because it is hypocrisy! It is a simple thing for farmers to sell maize at Kshs100 and a middleman pockets the difference; every middleman is making Kshs1,400 for every bag of maize sold!"
