"content": "I am also touched by the issue on the hearing of a petition by a bench of three judges. Under Clause 21 of the Bill, the Bill shall provide for hearing of a petition by a three-judge bench and determine the matter within six months. By the Bill giving us timeline, it is a good thing so that we do not have a petition which will last forever. We are aware that there are some petitions which have taken years to end and have never been determined. In this House, we have the petition by Hon. Waluke which has never been determined for years now. Therefore, it is important that we give a timeframe to the judicial system so that they tell us, for instance, that they are able to settle this matter within six months. Let the Judiciary itself set a bench of three judges. I am attracted to that, and I feel that it is a good thing, if we push this Referendum Bill to be in that manner.
