    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me a chance to also add my voice to this very important Bill. From the outset, I want to indicate that I support it. I would also like to indicate that a few amendments will be necessary so that we can ensure that the Referendum Bill is one that will serve this country well. One of the good aspects of this Bill is that it is transparent and it will provide a fair process to ensure that the expression of the will of the people of Kenya is heard and appreciated. This will be a milestone. We will have a standalone law that guides a referendum process. You realise that what has been helping this country is the Elections Act of 2011, which has had serious loopholes. This Bill is extremely important because it will be a standalone law that guides the process of referendums, and particularly now that we are about to have one. This will actually assist this country."
