    "content": "Madam Temporary Speaker, I rise pursuant to Standing Order No. 47(1) to make a Statement of general topic of concern, namely, implementing policies to protect children from harmful online content. The influence of the media to the psychosocial development of children is profound. Thus, it is important for stakeholders, including physicians to discuss with parents their children‟s exposure to media and provide guidance on age-appropriate use of all media including Television (TV), radio, music, video games and the internet. Madam Temporary Speaker, COVID-19 was declared as a global pandemic in March, 2020 and has both short term and far-reaching implications for our families, friends and colleagues. It has also had an impact on our work and will affect the achievement of our shared vision of a world without violence against children.
