Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, Clause 14 of the Bill be amended─ (a) in sub-clause (1) by deleting the words “thirty days” and substituting therefor the words “sixty days”; It is because we know under the circumstances that refugees deal, that time of 30 days which they are given is a very short time. Most of them are strangers to this country. They may not have legal representation. I know this because a lot of times many cases of refugees were referred to me when I was a counsel in FIDA and sometimes by the time the matter comes to you it is already late by law. So, maybe you could give them 60 days instead of 30. That is my proposed amendment, both in (a) and (b). So, I move for both (a) and (b)."
