    "content": "The other thing that I think requires serious attention from the Treasury and the Ministry of Finance is the size of the deficit. We know that most of the deficit is financed through debt, and this also fuels inflation; that is another area that, should the House approve this Motion, the Select Committee should apply itself to. We are also running a non-contributory pension, and that is an area that would need great strengthening, if we are to unravel the cause of this fall in the value of our Shilling. I have also studied trends in the past, particularly in the run-up to elections and seen that every time we are approaching our elections, there tends to be a fall in the Shilling. It is time that a Select Committee was set up to look at this trend and possibly unravel the underlying reason."
