Members, you will recall that on Tuesday, 2nd March 2021, I made a Communication updating the House on the status of returns by the county assemblies to the Speakers of the Houses of Parliament with respect to the draft Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2020. In that Communication, I indicated that as at close of business on Monday, 1st March 2021, 42 county assemblies had submitted their resolutions on the draft Bill to the Speakers of the Houses of Parliament. So far, out of the 42, only two county assemblies had rejected the Bill. Hon. Members, in addition to that number, we have also received certificates of approval and copies of the draft Bill from the respective Speakers of the county assemblies of Migori and Kilifi."
