You can be a member of a political party which belongs to a coalition. For example, Sen. Mutula Kilonzo Jnr. is member of Wiper Democratic Party, but he can be a member of National Super Alliance (NASA) or Jubilee Party Coalition. However, you cannot be a member of two distinct parties.
