    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I wish to second what the Chair of the Committee has moved. The law under the Media Council Act allows the Committee under Section (14) (3) to have a look at the Petition within seven days. However, because of the huge public interest in this matter, we have received numerous responses from stakeholders which we could not have looked at within the seven days. In future, we may need to relook at this law so that we extend this period to, maybe, 14 days. That way, the Committee will have enough time to look at issues raised. This is a very sensitive matter which the Committee would like to spend quality time, upon scrutinizing the issues raised and come up with a good report for this House to look into. Most importantly, the Act also seems to suggest that the final say would be made by the Cabinet Secretary for the relevant Ministry. However, these are issues and loopholes that we need to consider in terms of amendments to the Act. I second."
