"content": "The same question would be asked in terms of the provisions of the Ombudsman position. I saw the Chairperson of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights struggling to justify that the Ombudsman will be there investigating and intimidating judges. He will be calling judges and telling them if you do not this or that, you will be removed. However, the Constitution allows the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to retain its power to investigate and interrogate judges. How will the two provisions sit together? How do you bring constitutional amendments that contradict the basic structure and foundation of the Constitution in terms of the values and principles?"
