    "content": "Madam Deputy Speaker, compromises were made on the release of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. Before his release, he was not a central player in the political party activities of the day because he had been in detention for far too long. It took Jaramogi Oginga Odinga to make a compromise and break ranks with his colleagues in the African Elected Members Organisation (AEMO). Many people, including Tom Mboya, were unhappy. The children of home guards who were in the Legislature, were unhappy because they thought Mzee Kenyatta was a leader unto darkness. It was because of that compromise that we got Mzee Kenyatta as our first President."
