Speaker, I rise to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Education the following Question: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain the measures being put in place to mitigate challenges faced by public universities in the country due to inadequate funding which has led to among other concerns, increased debts, failure to remit statutory dues from employees’ deductions and failure to meet other financial obligations? (ii) Could the Cabinet Secretary also explain the continued funding of students in private universities at the expense of the existing public universities?"
