    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, this is clearly a very retrogressive piece of amendment. This amendment is uncalled for, unnecessary and in bad faith. The women of this country have been given a raw deal for a long time. I speak as the Chairman of the House Committee on Equal Opportunities. This amendment should have been the reversed role. In fact, we are doing very badly in this region. When you go to countries like Rwanda, Uganda and South Africa, they have done very well in the empowerment of women. Kenya which is beacon of hope, it is strange that we are going round the region learning how to improve the welfare of women. In fact, the other countries in the region should have visited us to learn how we do it here. This is retrogressive and I oppose it."
