"content": "Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to second this amendment, the reason being that Kenya is, and shall continue to be, a capitalist state. We cannot limit peopleâs abilities. Today we are in a generation where most of us are buying land. We cannot allow a situation whereby if I want to buy as much land as possible, because I have something to do on that land, I cannot be allowed. If the problem is under-utilisation of land, we should be thinking of how we can introduce land taxes for purposes of making sure that idle land is used. Otherwise, this idea is retrogressive. In my view, it is something that should not be entertained in this Century. Finally, let me say that investors who may want to invest in this country, and who may require more land than the maximum specified amount, may find it very difficult to do business in this country. With those remarks, I beg to support."
