Speaker, I wish to seek the following replies from the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Planning: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary state the number of public entities that have been privatised since the establishment of the Privatisation Commission? (ii) Why did the Government bypass the Commission in its privatisation of the National Bank of Kenya and in the ongoing efforts at State-owned sugar factories? (iii) When does the Cabinet Secretary intend to fill the existing vacancies in the membership of the Privatisation Commission? (iv) What steps does the Cabinet Secretary intend to take to ensure the Commission is able to carry out its mandate including through provision of the necessary resources?"
