However, as the Committee looks into that specific area, I think they need to look at the generic issue of why there are complaints across the entire country and what needs to be done. That is so that we avoid this issue of farmers losing their livestock and crops to animals and yet, there should be some co-existence organized through an institutional framework with KWS for protecting the wildlife and end its interference with the people. It is painful and I can see the photographs that have been sent showing the animals that have been mauled by those hyenas. It is painful and you can see the people are being deprived of their livestock by those hyenas and there is nothing much they can do. Moreover, KWS seems to be saying: “There is nothing much we can do.” Therefore, what are the people supposed to do? I would like the Committee to actually get deeper into that budget. Let them come out and explain to Kenyans what they should do if KWS cannot do anything. I thank you, Hon. Speaker."
