    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this very important amendment Bill which is related to health. Health is a very important aspect of our lives and it has been riddled with so many challenges in this country for several years. This is one opportunity that we have to improve the health system and the NHIF in particular. I look back at how the NHIF has been utilised and I still see so many challenges. Many people do not know about the NHIF and this should be looked at before we get to how to improve its management, as explained by Hon. Sossion and Hon. (Dr.) Nyikal. People are so sick, but they fear going to hospital because it is too expensive. They imagine that it is extremely expensive even before they visit the hospital. It is expensive because they do not have cards. They do not know that there is such an insurance fund that can be utilised and they can be members of."
