    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Speaker. It is also important that such a matter has been brought to the attention of the nation because land issues are very emotive. The Constitution and the National Land Commission Act have very specific timelines and mechanisms of addressing the matter at hand. I believe that the Departmental Committee on Lands is well-equipped to deal with the matter. Secondly, because gazetted land is public land, its conversion to private land or any other form of land ownership is dictated by the provisions of the Land Act No. 6 of 2012. I believe it should provide guidance. Finally, for any land that remains idle and un-productive, a means must be found to put it into productive use unless there is justifiable cause for land banking. With those few remarks, I support the Petition."
